In this article, we are going to suggest you some of the remedies that you can use to ease off the pain in the tooth in the emergency situations. Some of them are recommended by the emergency dental clinic in Edmonton and you can be sure of the effectiveness. 1. Vanilla, Almond, Peppermint, or Lemon Extract If you are having a toothache, then you can soak a piece of cotton in the any of the mentioned extracts and keep it on the area that is affected. This will ease off the pain you are feeling. 2. Oils There are many oils that can help you to ease off the problems that you are having in your mouth and they are really helpful to reduce the toothache. You can also rinse the mouth using a small amount of oil with the water or you can directly apply it to the affected areas using the cotton. You can use sunflower oil, sesame oil, oregano oil, nutmeg oil, clove oil, and tea tree oil. 3. Leaves and Roots You can also use Plantain leaves, peppermint leaves, ginger root, and garlic on the affected area to ease off the discomfort. They have anti-inflammatory properties and their roots have antibacterial properties that are very useful to lessen the pain. To use garlic for relief of the pain that you are facing, you first have to crush it into a paste, or for additional pain reduction, you can mix rock salt to the garlic paste, and then apply directly to the sore area. If you want to use the ginger, then you just have to chew it from the side of the mouth that you are facing the pain and it will give you a relief shortly. 4. Citrus Citrus may be really sour for some but it is really helpful in easing off the pain that is caused by the teeth. As it has high amounts of citric acid and vitamin C, they work collectively to destroy bacteria and support the immune system. You can prepare them by cutting the lemon into slices and then you can bite directly on them to get the juice at the affected area in the mouth. 5. Hot water and salt These are the age old remedies and many people use it to ease off the pain. It is the easiest and arguably the safest method to use. This solution will draw out the fluids from the gums that are causing the irritation and will also help to reduce the aching sensation. To prepare the solution, mix one tablespoon of salt in a glass full of warm water and then gargle the mouth. Repeat the process if necessary and you are feeling too much pain in the gums or teeth.
