When your jaws become sore your muscles demand more of comfort. It is recommended that you must move your jaw around constantly. You can also try sleeping on back or towards the side with a supportive pillow, instead of facedown; this will relax your jaw and speed its healing.
One of the treatments for canker sore can be applying vegetable oil on a cotton ball and holding it against the sore for about 5 to 10 minutes, and repeating the same three or four times a day. The oil covers the sore and lessens irritation and itchiness.
